Kinosaki Marine World (Hyogo) – Access, Hours & Fees

This new style of aquarium faces the sea of Japan near Kinosaki Onsen. Aiming to be ‘more than an aquarium’, visitors and staff are encouraged to see living creatures and enjoy nature together. There are shows that will stimulate all five senses, many attractions to experience, plenty of snow in the winter, events timed to the seasons and a lively atmosphere throughout the year! This is an experience-oriented facility that can be enjoyed throughout the four seasons.

A variety of ways to experience dolphins!

One of the charms of this aquarium is that there are dolphin shows, yes, but also many other ways to enjoy dolphins. For example, in the ‘Dolphin Tank’ you can see dolphin up close while hearing the explanations of the trainers. You can also swim with the dolphins in their pool, touch them or get a kiss from a dolphin. This aquarium packed with different options and programs to help visitors learn about dolphins in many different ways. If, as a child, you always wanted to be a dolphin trainer, you can make that dream come true here! The staff provide excellent explanations here in a way that is both fun and informative. It enhances your visit with the dolphins when you can also feel the good energy of the staff that work with them.

Catch them yourself and eat them there!

In keeping with the idea of an ‘aquarium that is more than an aquarium’, there is a ‘Mackerel Fishing’ corner, where you can catch a fish and eat it. Fishing equipment is provided so that anyone can take part. The fishing reels are threaded and ready to go, so you will have caught a fish and be frying it in the kitchen next door before you know it. It is certainly an aquarium that speaks to all five senses, isn’t it?

Experience both the power of the shows and the powerful waves from the Sea of Japan!

There is a daily dolphin, sea lion and walrus performance in the Sea Land Stadium, a stage built into a cove overlooking the Sea of Japan. A lot of aquariums have the sea as their stage backdrop, but this part of the Sea of Japan is not one we can experience so often. It is a particularly dynamic part of the coastline with very high seas, especially in the winter.
