Hibikinada Green Park (Fukuoka) – Access, Hours & Fees

Green Park is a tropical ecological garden that focuses on visitor interaction with plants, water and animals. This glass-walled building is like a giant greenhouse, with the temperatures and humidity increased to match. There are about 170 kinds of rare animals and plants exhibited here. As you step inside you see a panorama of vivid colors and lush plants, just as if you had entered a tropical jungle.

Aquatic creatures live inside the greenhouse

Inside the greenhouse is a small river, a pond, a fully-fledged waterfall, and more. Near these water features you can find exhibits of animals that live near water, various fish, and reptiles. You can feed the fish in the pond. There is a special turtle zone where African spurred tortoises walk around leisurely. There is a room where you can observe what is said to be the largest collection of butterflies in Japan, starting with the large tree nymph. There colorful, big birds, iguanas, central bearded dragons and other tropical animals which will have you feeling as though you are lost in a tropical paradise.

See aquariums inside the cave

There is a zone in the aquarium which is constructed to look like a cave and contains many tanks. Here in the low light it is possible to see tropical fish such as redtail catfish, parumu, common catfish, black tambaqui, giant gourami, silver arowana and angelfish, as well archerfish and piranha. There are also amphibians and reptiles such as pig-nosed turtles and banded bullfrogs.

Events are held regularly

There are events in Green Park that enable guests to interact with animals.
