Those in an adventurous mood will enjoy this aquarium
‘Tropical Wonder’ is a corridor-style greenhouse that recreates the environment of a rainforest. Here and there are tanks filled with tropical fish. There are more than 3,700 tropical plants and 4,000 tropical fish in the greenhouse. There are many things to see inside, and it makes you feel like you are exploring a jungle. The main attraction here is the world’s largest freshwater fish, the pirarucu.
The pirarucu can reach up to 5 meters in length, and there is one here in Tropical Wonder that is over 1 meter. The tank can be viewed through portholes in an underwater tunnel and also from domed windows above the tank. There are also colorful tropical fish, sea hares and other sea creatures making it well worth viewing.
Many exciting little features!
There are a variety of things to do in ‘Tropical Wonder’ that will help you enjoy your adventure here. There is a telescope-style monitor to help you see both into the water and to see birds, and they have crayfish fishing. There is a doctor fish corner so that visitors can try fish therapy. We recommend it as it is very refreshing.
We recommend the feeding show and touch pool
The feeding show is held every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. It is compelling to watch the large, ancient arowana appear and devour his food! At 3pm on the third Sunday of every month they hold a ‘Touching Corner of Living things’. Here, visitors have the chance to touch creatures they might not have the chance to typically, such as starfish and stag beetles.
