Visitors can touch a lot of fish!
A main event at Beach Land is the ‘Touch Carnival’ in which visitors can touch a bottlenose dolphin, spotted seal or sea lion, and feed the penguins. These events can sometimes have up to 1,500 people so there is a very festive mood. Visitors can also touch sea turtles, pelicans, and other fish, making it perfect for those who want to observe living things up close.
Be impressed by the finless porpoise in a tank weighing 1,000 tons
One of the facilities here is the ‘Ocean Pavilion’, containing about 150 species and about 7,000 fish in a huge 1,000 ton tank. This tank is the focal point of the aquarium and is where you will find the finless porpoise, a symbol of Ise Bay. This is the largest enclosure of finless porpoises in Japan, and it is lovely to watch them swimming around with other friends from Ise Bay such as mackerel and sardines. Don’t miss feeding time with the divers. In the Marine Pavilion you can experience feeling like a diver with a virtual dive. Children will be delighted to see the fish while exploring a pirate ship and undersea caves.
Enjoy time with dolphins!
Minamichita Beach Land contains a Dolphin Stadium, Dolphin Hall, dolphin petting pool and dolphin open deck to make a total of four dolphin facilities. When we think of dolphins we might think of a show, but there are also plenty of other ways to enjoy their charm. You can also play catch with a dolphin and observe them in the water from many different angles.
‘Toy Kingdom’ is a recommended stop
For families with young children, ‘Toy Kingdom’ located next to the aquarium is worth a visit. here are nine pavilions in which you can play with a variety of Japanese toys such as Tomica toy vehicles, blocks, and Rika-chan dolls. If you purchase a ride ticket, you can also use the Ferris wheel and bicycles to maximize your day out..
